Cry
I typed the phrase "Cried Out" on a search engine of a particular bible passage search site. It returned 145 different entries.A quick survey of those verses showed that different individuals cried out to God at different times in the bible for different reasons.
What are you crying out for today?
"O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me."

The Heart and The Brain
Unarguably, the 2 most important organs found on a human being will be the HEART and the BRAIN. Without each, a person basically lost all functionality.
But out of this 2, which holds the higher order?
When the brain is dead, all brain activities cease due to total necrosis of the cerebral neurons following loss of blood flow and oxygenation, but technically speaking there is still life in the person, because the heart is still pumping.
But when the heart is dead, that very moment the muscle tissue starts breaking down because there is no longer life within the person.
"... For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the HEART."
1 Samuel 16:7
Unarguably, the 2 most important attributes found in a human being is PASSION and INTELLECTUALITY. Without each, a person basically lost all functionality.
The heart always have a higher order than the brain. So does passion over intellectuality.
Did I ever mention why is the youth revolution call i.Heart and not i.Brain? =)

Anfield - The Kop
The Kop at Anfield dates back to 1905-06. At the end of that season which saw Liverpool lift the second of their league championships the directors at the club decided to reward the loyalty of the fans by building a new brick and cinder banking at the Walton Breck road end of the ground. It was christened as the Spion Kop by Ernest Jones in memory of the many scousers who died in battle over a hill in South Africa by the same name during the Boer War. In 1928 The Kop was altered to terracing and a massive roof added to protect the thousands of fans who gathered to watch their beloved team play. Other teams named their stands as the Kop but the one at Anfield was the original and the best." "Over One Hundred years ago, on the evening of Tuesday 23rd January, 1900, 1,700 British troops prepared to attack a hill in South Africa known as Spionkop. Spionkop means 'Spy Hill' and was coined by the Dutch settlers for the commanding views it afforded. The following days witnessed a bloody battle between the British Empire and a ragged collection of Boer farmers and the British Empire lost. However, that reckoned without a series of blunders by the British High Command, led by Sir Redvers Bullers, and the terrifying fighting qualities of the Boers. Reports at the end of the battle, which raged for two days stated 332 killed, 563 wounded and 163 prisoners taken, but these figures are still open to question with some claiming up to 340 killed and 1000 wounded. The Boers had beaten the mightiest army in the world and the reverberations were felt around the globe. To commemorate the their fallen, upon returning home the surviviors named stands at their local football grounds 'the Kop', the most famous of these being 'the Kop' at Anfield(Liverpool FC). The Kop remembers the Liverpool men who lay, frightened, at the foot of an obscure hill in Africa all those years ago. The Kop has proved equally daunting to visiting teams and has witnessed many great victories for Liverpool FC. Hopefully, it will continue to do so for another 100 years.

Who will be there when it happen?
What is going to happen?
Where is it going to happen?
How is it going to happen?
When is it going to happen?
Who will be there when it happen?
I wrote down my vision, "To be a Youth Pastor in CHC."
Jiahao wrote down his vision, "To graduate with a degree."
We both answered the 5 questions and we showed each other cheekily what we wrote.
We both had each other's name on our sheet.
A Covenant is set in place.
8 years down the road, on the 11th July 2009 (Possibly the best day of my life this year yet!).
One half of the Covenant is being fulfilled.

Jiahao, I love you as my brother with all my heart! Thank you for being my covenant friend! Proud of you!

Ground Zero
I agree almost immediately. Thinking GROUND ZERO refers to the basic, to the beginning.
How wrong am I.
A simple search on the internet shows this description.
GROUND ZERO
–noun
| 1. | the point on the surface of the earth or water directly below, directly above, or at which an atomic or hydrogen bomb explodes. |
Amazed.

I still agree with the reply, "return to GROUND ZERO". But that place is not where you begin. That place is where you last experienced an explosion. An explosion of revival, an explosion of His love, an explosion of the presence of God.
Wherever you are. Lets return to GROUND ZERO.

Premeditation

I beat my marker with a crossover, with another player charging towards me i passed the ball to my teammate who made a free basket. 1 point scored.
It was a beautiful moment. But it was quickly being overshadowed by me calling out "foul". Everyone on court including myself am puzzled. Because no one touched me. So who "foul" me?
My mind.
Before I beat my first marker with the crossover, I've already premeditated that I would draw another player towards me and I was expecting him to foul me before I make the shot.
So instinctively even without any body contact from anyone, my mind played out the foul.
Of course I became the joke of the game.
In life, premeditation is common in everyday life as well. Before we approach any situation, we will always have certain expectation and even if things turned out differently. This premeditation will act out exactly what we expect.
Question: What if we change our premeditation thoughts?
With this new perspective how different would things be?

星光传奇
星光传奇 is a mini movie-documentary that explore the background of contestants from 超級星光大道 season 2. In the 2 and 1/2 hours show scenes were being cut between studio competition and their private lives. Instantaneously they transform from contestants looking for a shot to fame to youths running after their dreams.

My Inspiration. My Pride.
Was talking to Leon on the way home and he was sharing with me his recent revelation. He was very touched by Pst Kong's Songs Of Solomon and he believes we all need to go through a breaking process to shine for God.
His illustration:
"A diamond is merely a piece of rock left untouched. Only going through different cuts of the surface can it reflect of the light to show its brilliancy. Same to us as Christians. Without going through brokeness we are just raw stone. But when we go through the brokeness process, we are able to reflect the light of God. "
Wow!
And I was talking to Heidi on msn the other day.
Her pledge:
"One day the i.Hearters will all rise up as Cell Group Leaders in your zone!"
Wow again!
Did I mention both Leon and Heidi are 16 years old?

Heart
"What make us human being? It is not something we can put in a chip, it is the strength of a human's heart."I was captivated by this sentence Christian Bale said in Terminator Salvation.
To him that is the difference between humans and machines. Humans have a heart, we do not make cold, calculated decisions. But we add our heart into our thinking.
Instead of just thinking from a sound mind, try thinking from a sound heart.
"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life."
Proverbs 4:23 (New Living Translation)
Can your heart bring you anywhere?
Oh yeah it can.

6 Hours 44 Minutes 21 Seconds

The time I took to run the Adidas Sundown Marathon 2009.
The whole race was tough and painful. Nevertheless it anchored a deep thought once again within me.
I told a friend before the race that I never train for it.
He said, "Just move those legs, swing those arms, and remember to smile. Because you'll never know when a photographer is around to snap your face. Don't wanna end up with grumpy running pics."
I made it, I did it with a smile on my face (at least throughout most of the 42km).
Now I am heading back to another Marathon. It is call LIFE.
It is a Marathon that I did not train for.
But..
I am just gonna move these legs, swing these arms and remember to smile. Because I'll never know when God is gonna show up to give me my breakthrough in life. Don't wanna end up with grumpy life story.

The Art of Communication
During the LOUD Camp Praise and Worship rehearsal last night, I took a moment to step out of the crowd and I observed. In that particular moment everyone was doing the same thing, communicating.
Leaders communicating with leaders, leaders communicating with members, members communicating with members, worship leaders communicating with musicians, musicians communicating with musicians.. worshipers communicating with God.
The art of communication, not necessary through words. Awesome sight.

When a Convertable Became a Joke
But have you seen a convertable that is a joke? I saw.
Yesterday I was driving on my way to emcee for an event, when I notice something strange on the opposite side of the road, a malfunction convertable with its roof dangling in mid-air.
When the convertable is covered by its roof, it is cool. When the covertable's roof is retracted, it is cool. But when it malfunction and is hanging in the middle of nowhere, it is a joke.
That small malfunction made a big difference!
But isn't it same with life? If we are neither here nor there, we ourselves becomes a joke.
"So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."
Revelation 3:16
Lets make it a point that we will stay cool, like a well-functioning convertable, passionate and on fire. And not be dangling in the middle of nowhere.
P/S: You should see the car, you will laugh your head off.

i.Heart
.jpg)
With the heart shape encircling the word "ART", the logo is broken up to 3 words; i, He, Art. Which means, My relationship with God is like a form of art, unique and different from anyone else, just like you won't be able to find 2 paintings that are exactly the same.
i.Heart is a special discipleship group created for the Secondary School members in E424, for the past one year we've seen the greatness of God in our CG. i.Hearters saw a 500% growth in the past 5 months. And with a burden to see a new generation of young believers loving God and loving people, i.Heart was formed.
We had our first ever i.Heart meeting last Saturday and took time to worship in the presence of God together. I shared on the verse 1 Timonty 4:12
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
The bible clearly tells us 6 things we need to observe as youths so that we will not be look down but instead being looked upon as a role model, which is the kind of life God want every youth to live out, a life full of purpose.
I shared the topic about love during the first meeting and over the course of next 5 weeks I will be sharing on the other 5 different topics.
i.Hearters, lets synchronize our hearts to His.

Time of My Life
Time is an unique element. It cannot be influence, it cannot be hasten nor can it be slowed down. Now matter what we do, we still will go through 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 60 minutes an hour, 60 seconds a minute. Time cannot be altered.
But yet time is also an magical element. Have you ever had an experience whereby time seems to fly past? Or vice versa when time seems to be a little hard to go by (usually happen when I am preparing for my exams)?
I believe in life there are moments that we are being born for. And when we are in that particular moment, time will stand still.
Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the people had revenge upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.
And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.
Joshua 10:12-13
Joshua was born for that moment and the time stood still, Joshua experienced the time of his life! And notice this, it was in the midst of war!
Friends, today you may be in war, you may be facing the fiercest battle of your life yet. But yet this could be the moment you are born for, fight and anticipate the time standing still moment.
This could be the time of your life.

Zero vs. Hero
People remember Batman, but how many remember Alfred?
People remember Spiderman, but how many remember Uncle Ben?
People remember Ironman, but how many remember Pepper?
Yet, it is the latter that usually motivates the former.
It is tough being a hero, but it is tougher to be a zero.
If you are a zero waiting to be a hero, or if you are just meant to be a zero behind the hero..
Will you still live for Him?

Yes We Can
It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.
Yes we can.
It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.
Yes we can.
It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.
Yes we can.
It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.
Yes we can to justice and equality.
Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.
Yes we can heal this nation.
Yes we can repair this world.
Yes we can.
We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.
We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics. They will only grow louder and more dissonant. We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.
But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.
Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea.
Yes. We. Can.

Second Nature
Every rehearsal we are made to walk through our entire scene umpteen times. Making sure we know how to stand, where to stand and when to stand. The entire process was being carved into our hearts.
The Easter weekend was exceptionally tiring, having already acted for 6 grilling services, I was struggling to keep myself awake during the "Praying in Gethsemane" scene at the 7th service. I literally was lost while I was pre-setting walking up the stage, all of a sudden I do not know in my mind what is the thing I need to do. But like having an auto-pilot, I somehow walked to the right position and sat down, waiting for Tian-An (Jesus) to speak to us (Disciples). It suddenly dawn upon me that knowing my steps and positions in this production has become my second nature, I no longer have to give much thinking to it, because of the hours of grilling my body already know how to respond to it automatically.
It came as a revelation, in life a lot of things to us are not natural. When I say not natural means we got to take extra effort to do it. To some of us it could be waking up early, to some of us it could means running regularly, to some of us it could be not to worry but turning to God when critical situations arises. These things are just somehow not in our nature.
"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Matthew 26:41
In life there are just certain things in life that will take us extra effort to carry it out. But the thing is if we are willing drill it hard enough, we will be able to respond to it naturally, without having a second thought, it is call the Second Nature.

Arise
Genesis 13:17
This is the first time the word "Arise" appeared in the bible. It is when God spoke to Abraham, asking him to arise, walk the land which God was about to give to him.
Arise is a verb, a word calling people into "action". It speaks of a change of momentum and a change of position.
When God spoke to Abraham, he was already settled in Canaan and a very wealthy man. He led a ‘comfortable’ life and because of that, he was complacent with what he had and placed himself in a passive position. By commanding Abraham to arise, God was telling Abraham to change, to be active. To be a doer rather than wait for things to happen. To not settle and be comfortable with what he had but to arise and take hold of all the blessings that God had in mind for him.
In another occasion Jesus began to command a paralytic to arise as well is in the gospel of Mark.
“(Jesus) I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
Mark 2:11
In Mark chapter 2 four friends brought a paralytic to Jesus. Almost immediately the paralytic got healed by Him. So why did Jesus ask the paralytic to arise?
In the house there were hundreds of people looking at what Jesus was doing. At that moment the anointing of God came, and it was upon the paralytic. But with the paralytic lying down, no one else can see or experience the anointing of God. Yet simply by the action of arising, the paralytic immediately manifested the anointing and glory of God in that place and hundreds upon hundreds of people experienced first hand the anointing of God.
Today the anointing of God is upon you. But by choosing to lie down, the anointing of God will only be kept within you. It is only by choosing to arise, the anointing of God will be manifested in your life and by this simple action hundreds to thousands will then be able to experience the manifested anointing of God first hand.
Chose to arise within you.

The Way God Loves Me
Be blessed.
The pit that I fell into, God lifted me up.
Not that I deserve it, but because He knows.
He knows who I am, and knows I can’t go through this life alone.
It constantly amazes me, how many times God delivers.
Despite my blunders, guilt and shame, His love for me will be the same.
He looks beyond my imperfections, and sees me in a different light.
And no matter what it is I do, I know He’ll be there to see it through.
The way He sees and loves me, with such tender loving care,
Is something I can never grasp, something I’ll never get.
I ask if He will ever leave me, and why He loves me so,
In a still voice He tells me,
Because I love you as you are, I’ll never let you go.

Positioning
I have never been an outstanding soccer player, let alone to score a goal in a match. But that instinctive moment of positioning my body in the right way put my name on the scoreboard for the first time in my "career" as a soccer fanatic.
The art of positioning is very important. No matter the situation, positive positioning enables us to seize the moment to propel forward. Positioning will allow us to ride on the wave, tap on the momentum, be pushed by the wind to give us strength that is beyond our measure. Just like flying an aeroplane, the pilot will always position the plane to take off against the wind for it to elevate.
Pst Phil has a passion for sailing. During the time spent with City Harvest Church this weekend, he shared about his sailing experiences - no matter which direction the wind blows, with the right positioning and right tools, the sail should catch hold of the wind and move forward. This is a good metaphor about how life should be, that no matter what situations we face, we should position ourselves to catch hold of the wind to move forward.
Pst Tan once made a statement which aptly captures the spirit of positioning. During a Finance Excellence workshop, the trainer asked the class to use one sentence to describe how they feel about the economic meltdown. Many individuals shared their concerns and made statements like "must save more", "petrol price increase" etc. One attendee said "when to pull out" and many agreed with him. Pst Tan immediately followed-up with another statement which stunned the class. He said "when to jump in". This one statement totally captures the art of positioning. While many people are frantically pulling the plug in this financial crisis, we should position ourselves so that we are able to take advantage of the situation and ride on the wave.
Life is all about choices and we can decide how we position ourselves. It is not the situations that will knock us down. It is not trials that will stop us from excelling. Rather, it’s because we have chosen to place ourselves in a bad position that we often find ourselves lost and defeated. And vice versa, it is with good positioning, placing ourselves in the right place at the right time, having the right attitude that we’ll find ourselves in a place that will automatically lead us forward and excel in life.
Pst Phil stressed the importance of positioning ourselves under the will of God, putting ourselves in a position that will allow God to touch us and allowing the principles of God to help us.
"When was the last time you got carried away in the presence of God?" Pst Phil asked the church.
Maybe it is time for us to reposition our lives in a way such that God is able to touch us, and we are able to touch the world.

Flying Without Wings
What they say does make sense, that we should always do things within our means and not attempt to go beyond our abilities. But what determines “can” or “cannot”? How do you define whether you “can” or “cannot” do something? It is all a matter of perspective. So what is your perspective? Because your perspective will determine the boundaries of your capabilities.
The statement of "还不会跑就要飞?" (Want to fly when you don't even know how to run?) serves as a reminder of our basic human nature, reminding us that we have boundaries. But my question is, what is our basic nature? What is the boundary of our capabilities?
"But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will SOAR high on WINGS like eagles.."
Isaiah 40:31
The eagle's basic nature is to fly, is to soar in the air. The first thing an eagle learns is not to walk, not to run, but to fly.
So next time when someone else tells you, "还不会跑就要飞?" (Want to fly when you don't even know how to run?). You can reply, "我不飞不行." (I am meant to fly.)

Surviving vs. Living
I’ve started following Pst Phil Pringle on Twitter, what a programme that connects people! Through Pst Phil's tweets you will be amazed by his schedule! Meetings upon meetings, preachings upon preachings. But yet there is just so much energy and LIFE in him! Just by reading his tweets alone, you will feel energized and be able to rub of some life from him.
Through Twitter I also found a second generation leader in CCC by the name of Joshua Kelsey. Joshua is a youth leader in CCC whom I had a chance to speak to briefly during the CCCI event in Singapore few years back. I have always been inspired by his passion and love for God and for people. But when I started to follow him on Twitter, the word "inspired" rapidly became an understatement. Joshua is now travelling, preaching and inspiring youths around the world! Just 2 days ago he just tweeted, "waiting for my plane to Brisbane, can't wait to speak to the youths tonight". Wow, what a life he is living, travelling and inspiring the next generation! It’s the kind of life that I long for everyday! He is now 28, which means I have 2 years to catch up! *wink*
Following Pst Phil and Joshua Kelsey's tweets made me realise something about life. That my life will be fun and fulfilling when I recognise and understand the purpose behind my living, just like the way Pst Phil and Joshua recognise and understand theirs. Because if I don't recognise it, I will not be able to live out the full potential of my life, and I will be merely surviving from day to day, drifting from day to day.
I asked myself this, is my life filled with a purpose? Am I living or am I merely surviving?
I am LIVING.
To Live, to Love, to Inspire.

Small Changes, Big Differences
"Small Changes, Big Difference". This is a phrase that God has been putting in my heart recently. I realized one of the main factor that contributes to procrastination is the unwillingness to change. Humans are creation of habits, we are USED TO the different norms we set in our lives and that set a boundary in our mind of what we can/cannot do, what we should/should not do. Therefore other than our age, other things always remains the same and never change. But breakthroughs don't come with time, breakthroughs come when we do SOMETHING, when we start to CHANGE. Which is a word that will drive a normal population crazy."Change? How to? I am comfortable, too comfortable to change."
It is actually just a matter of tweaking our mindset, Rom 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.." All we need to do is to redefine change. We have been educated through our growing up years that it takes BIG changes to start a BIG revolution, it takes a BIG man to complete a BIG task. That sets a boundary in our mindset. But have we actually thought about small changes? Changes that are manageable at our level? When Jesus called Peter to walk on water he did not jump onto the sea, he took a small step out of the boat, to literally "test water". When his feet was firm he then took another step to be totally out of the boat. That "small change" led to Peter being the second man on earth to actually walk on water.
In the year 1994, the sales of Hush Puppies footwear went down to a staggering figure of 30,000 pairs, it was on the brim of closing down. But yet in 1995 the sales went through the roof, selling 430,000 pairs! A big difference of 400,000 in one year! How did that happen? It was all initiated by a small change, when a group of youngsters in Manhattan decided to change their fashion sense, and wear Hush Puppies footwear to clubs and bars. And that slowly became a trend other people follows, and by word of mouth, the small change created a big difference.
No doubt it takes effort to change, no doubt most of us are not comfortable to change. But what is your definition of change, what is the level of change you can manage today? Initiated by a small change Peter walked on water, initiated by a small change I can still wear Hush Puppies shoe to my secondary school. What small change can you initiate today?
Life is all about choices, you chose.

Connection
Thank you for visiting my blog, after much procrastination I decided to take a step into the "unknown". I am praying that through this blog I will be able to CONNECT with you even more. Everything in this world this day is about CONNECTION, a famous saying goes, "Its not about what you know, but who you know". When you know the right people having the right CONNECTION you will have the right resources. In the book Tipping Point, Malcom Gladwell rightly pointed out the importance of CONNECTORS, those with all the CONNECTION and network, someone who knows whose who. They are like walking Facebooks, just that they do not throw sheeps at people. And if you pass on an information to them, the extend of the distance this information will travel is unbelievable.
But if only given one line of CONNECTION for you to be CONNECTED to one person, who would you want to be CONNECTED to? For me no doubt I will chose God, the greatest CONNECTOR in the world. Being CONNECTED gives you the access to everything in His storehouse, which means literally everything in this world! And this brings me to the main topic I want to talk about.
How well is your CONNECTION with God?
Pastor Dean Sweetman, Senior Pastor of Christian City Church Atlanta preached about CONNECTION with God during the CCCI meeting in Singapore a few years back. Pastor Dean said that just like internet CONNECTION, our CONNECTION with God has different bandwidth. Some of us have the 56kb/sec CONNECTION, signal is failing, sometimes not even able to connect. Some of us have the 10mb/sec CONNECTION, signal is good, but sometimes not really able to sustain heavy downloads. But there is a group that CHOSE to go for the Gigabit Ethernet system, 1000mb/sec. Needless to say, downloading has never been easier. So my question is, how well is your CONNECTION with God?
Life is all about choices, you chose.
